The Fort Frances Canadian bass championship is going on as I type this and my brother is in the hunt. We are pretty close and if I didn't have to work so much or probably more to the point, if I wan't addicted to hunting so much I'd probably do more tournaments with him....
Anyway, so I check the tournament website and I see he is in 6th place fishing with the "big boys". This should be some experience being in the top ten and doing the boat parade!! we were watching it too rene,, and didn't he hold 1st place for a period of time too? I just about peed my pants

Again, I want to thank everyone who cheered for me. It was so nice to have so many people cheering us on. The entire tournament was a fantastic experience. I'll tell you what, Fort Francis knows how to hold a fishing tournament! I can't wait to try and crack the top spot next year.
Here is a photo me and my partner Doug Mcbride holding up our basket on day two of the tourney. this was our biggest bag (18.70 pounds). I am wearing the shimano hat.  Here is a photo of me holding up one of our bass on the final day (day 3) weigh in. Our basket of 18.46 pounds would give us a total of 53.76 pounds and vault us into first place ahead of the current leaders the Sandberg brothers form michigan (52.20 pounds). We would hold on to top spot until the final two boats weighted in. Mark Libitka and Dave Bennet would eventually edge us out by a mere .47 of a pound (54.23 pounds). Good times. Good times.  Hopefully I will be able to share some good news in my next tournament, Sioux Narrows Bass'in for Bucks on mighty Lake of the Woods! It takes place September 11, and 12.
