Standnapper, I think that we all see "stuff" everyday while driving around. Glad you took the time to slow down and take photos and post them. I need to do the same. I don't know where I'm going in such a hurry all of the time but what "we" see might be very common for "us" but might be something someone 100 or 1000 miles away never sees. Looks like great deer and beautiful country where you are? Thanks for sharing.

Well said. I think it is time to invest in a new camera or two and slow down a bit as well. beer_cheers.gif

Hey thanks guys. I actually am just a photographer wannabe. I'm not using anything fancy, just my Kodak Playsport digital camera. I got it last Christmas as a gift from my wife. Came in a bundle with re,ote, extra batt., case, tripod etc. It's the one Micheal Waddell was promoting for a while. It only takes 5mp pictures. I got it for the HD movie capacity to film my hunts cause its shock and waterproof and takes great movies. I just have made a habit of tossing it under the seat of my truck because I always see great stuff on my morning drive. After finding myself repeatedly say......" Wow! I wish I had my camera" I just figured I'd toss it in the truck and leave it their till Hunting season.

Here is a contrast piece I put together of the Maitland River near my office. I call it "Maitland Morning" It is a summer and Winter shot at the exact same place.

Cool pictures SandNapper. With the latest contrast photos, do you have the ability to crop the two pictures so that are covering the identical image in different seasons?

I am using the horizon as my reference and the single hardwood on the left side river bank. Putting the two side by each would be a really cool and dramatic pair of images.

Great work!

Winston,
That was my intentions. Unfortunately I am a complete amatuer and I don't have any sophisticated software that would aid in that transformation. I am using the editor that comes standard with windows. I think my father may have some decent editing software. Maybe next time I see him I will try matching them better. Thanks for the Tip.

Do you have MS Paint? With paint you can do a 2 minute crop job and I bet you'd be amazed at the results.Still a great pair of shots man, you should be happy with them!

It's great man. Horizon looks good and the trees I've been using as reference are good too.

I don't know Voila. How do you like it? I'm shooting Nikon, so the standard software that I use is ViewNX 2. It really isn't very powerful, but it works for my current budget.
