By what I'm reading in the regs, I believe you can use whatever you want to hunt with. Whether it be firearm, bow or crossbow. We're in 10 West. Planning on the first two weeks and might do the 3rd week also.

From what I can gather:

- Bows must be greater then 40 lbs @ 28" draw
- Crossbows must be > 120 lbs, min 10" power stroke & 16" bolt with the BH.
- Arrows / bolts must have a cutting diameter of 7/8" or more
- Rifle equal to or greater then a .243
- Hunter orange is manditory

- As soon as a bear is bagged:
- The hunter must remove the "transportation coupon" from his licence and attach it to the anilmal.
- Within 48 hours, the hunter himself must "register" his harvest at a "registration station" where they will punch your "transporation coupon" so you can transport your bear out of Quebec.
- The hunter must state the calibur of firearm used along with the licence plate number of the vehicle used to transport the game.
- The hunter must produce the animals's carcus or pelt to register the animal and must pay the applicable fee to register it.
- The transportation coupon must remain attached to the carcus until it is butchered / the pelt until it is dressed

- Costs (exp March 2012 but gives a general idea)

- Non resident's bear licence ($151.76)
- Non residents fishing licence ($42.70 for a 7 day non-res- except Atlantic Salmon)
- Cost to register the bear ($6.06) once harvested.

First off, would like to applogize about the late reply, guys.Got a few PMs and emails, of which I have yet to get a back to. Picked up the flu-bug a couple of days ago and still not feeling top shape. It's a rough one, that's for sure.

P.S. I'll be sure to get back to the PMs / emails soon.

thanks,
